Grand Hotel Europe was built in 1824, reconstructed in 1991 and now it is the oldest hotel in St. Petersburg. Grand Hotel Europe is located in the historical centre of the city, in the close vicinity of the Palace Square, The Hermitage, the Russian Museum and other places of interest. The complete renovation of the Grand Hotel Europe between 1989 and 1991 returned the hotel's rooms and suites the gracious elegance and luxurious comfort that Saint-Petersburg had not seen since the era of the Tsars.
